About
Heroin Anonymous in Washington
Heroin Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from heroin addiction. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop suffering from heroin addiction. There are no dues or fees for H.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. H.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other heroin addicts to achieve sobriety.
In our Fellowship you will see one heroin addict helping another, freely passing on their experience to the next person who is desperately searching for an answer to their own heroin addiction.

Literature
Access formats, readings, and bylaws
There are many different types of meeting formats in use today. Your group can decide how they’d like the meeting to run. The available outlines and formats provided are for some of the most common meeting formats. Feel free to find one that most closely aligns to your meeting and make changes as necessary. If you have a format for another type of meeting that you would like listed, send us a copy for review and we can have it published here.
We have all current readings available for an H.A. meeting. You most likely don’t need every reading for a single meeting but you can always have them printed and available if the group should choose to use a different reading. These are readings such as ‘A Way Out’, ‘Who is a Heroin Addict’, ‘No More Suffering’, etc.
The bylaws for the Heroin Anonymous Washington Area are a great resource for learning how meetings, committees, and subcommittees should be structured and run. An H.A. group and an H.A. homegroup are defined with suggested position duties, turn duration, term limits, and sobriety requirements. As with anything, these have been adopted after a group conscious and majority vote so they are only guidelines. Each meeting is autonomous and has every right to make alterations as needed.
